FOUNDATIONS OF AYURVEDA
THE SACRED SCIENCE OF LIFE
Ayurveda is known as the ‘sister science’ to yoga and is an ancient, sophisticated system of traditional medicine and living. Yoga and ayurveda developed together and repeatedly influenced each other throughout history. They are integral parts of the great system of Vedic knowledge which states that all the universe is one and the key to cosmic knowledge lies within our own minds and hearts.
In this 3 hour workshop Kristin will introduce you to the foundational principles of ayurveda and how we can use them in our yoga practice and in our modern daily lives. Topics will include the laws of nature, understanding the three dosha’s (vata, pitta, kapha), your unique constitution and living in alignment with the principles of nature. We’ll also look at how yoga and ayurveda work together in self healing and self realisation.
Together, yoga and ayurveda form a complete discipline, one which can transform our existence from the physical to the deepest spiritual levels of our being with extraordinary vitality and creativity.
The practice of yoga works at a physical, mental and emotional level and may be rewarding and challenging. We invite you to take care and we always recommend that you participate only to a level where you feel safe and comfortable.
